Event details

Concept. Most AI events in Portugal are built around speakers describing what is possible. AI Night Thinkers is built around people showing what they have made. The format is deliberately unpolished: four members of our community each get 15 minutes, a shared screen and a working project. Questions from the room follow immediately, and they tend to be technical and direct. What gets demonstrated ranges from small automations solving a genuine personal problem to early-stage products with paying users.

We have run this format twice monthly since the Hub began, online. For Lisbon AI Week we are staging it in person for the first time, in Cascais, with a live stream so the wider community can join remotely. The session is recorded and archived.

Objectives. First, to show a side of the Portuguese AI scene that conferences rarely surface — the practitioners who are quietly building rather than speaking. Second, to give our community a stage during the most visible AI week of the year. Third, to connect builders based in the Cascais area with visitors who came to Lisbon for the week and would not otherwise cross paths with them.

Why Cascais. There is a substantial technical and entrepreneurial population in the Cascais area — founders, freelancers, engineers, a large international community — that does not travel into Lisbon midweek for an evening event. Our proposition is not to move audience out of the city, but to activate an audience that already exists thirty minutes down the line and rarely appears in the capital's programming. Cascais is ten minutes by train from Cais do Sodré every ten minutes, so the event remains fully accessible to anyone attending the week.

Expected impact. Between 40 and 50 attendees in the room, plus the live stream audience. A recorded archive that remains publicly available afterwards. For the presenters, feedback from an audience that includes people well outside their usual circle — which is often the most valuable part of the evenin
