Event details
Block Sessions is The Block Lisboa's discussion format: a small room, a facilitator, no stage, no slides, no keynote. Everyone in the room takes part. This edition's topic came directly from our community: how to stay hack-proof as AI makes scams faster, cheaper, and more convincing. We will talk about fake job interviews designed to drain crypto wallets, AI-assisted phishing, deepfake social engineering, and the practical habits people are adopting to protect themselves. The format works because security is something everyone has a story about — a near-miss, a friend who lost funds, a message that almost worked. Rather than a lecture from an expert on stage, the session surfaces collective, lived experience and turns it into shared, practical knowledge. The objective is for everyone to leave better equipped to recognise and resist AI-enabled fraud. The expected impact is a more security-aware community at a moment when AI has dramatically lowered the barrier to sophisticated attacks. The Block Lisboa has hosted community conversations since 2017 and facilitates these sessions in-house.
Doors open at 18:30 for informal networking; the facilitated conversation begins at 19:30.
